My Life with Sound
In addition to being on-stage and on-screen talent, I have a love of all things sound and audio. From the physics of how sound waves travel and interact with your ears, to recording audio digitally, and everything few and far between: I will remain eternally fascinated.
When I was a teenager, with the influence of mostly my parents, I came to love music. This love motivated me to try and create my own music, which usually happens one of two ways: performed or recorder. I found a lot of joy in playing the guitar, but naturally I wanted to begin recording these sounds, and so began a different journey altogether. The endless pursuit of "my sound" has been a through line in my life for some time now, and it has led me down a unique path. The only thing that has ever rivaled my love of music is acting.
Whilst learning the craft of Acting, I was immersed in what is a covertly technical world. Lights, carpentry, and, of course, sound all play a vital role in the world of theater. After I had finished my training for the stage, I had a desire to work more on-screen. I had acted in some small films and messed around with a VHS camcorder as a kid, and my parents exposed me to what will always be "the classics". So, with Han Solo and Indiana Jones as my inspiration, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
You might not believe me, but there are actually tons of people in Los Angeles trying to be actors. Like a massive amount. Some with true talent for it, and some with… other talents that aren't acting. I am not sure into which category I fall yet, but that's beside the point. The point is: trying to become a successful screen actor is hard. SO, naturally my love of sound led me to sound for video.
I've been on-set and in-studio. I've boomed, I've recorded ADR, and I've done post-production sound mixing. I play guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, piano, synthesizer, drums, mandolin, melodica, and I love to sing. Our world is polluted with vibrations from all-around. I am trying to make positive vibrations in this world that will stand out in the mix, harmonize, and move your soul.
